Despite being in the middle of its nineteenth season, CBS’ reality stalwart Big Brother still knows how to attract a great deal of controversy.

Things could go from contentious to downright volatile if contestant Paul Abrahamian follows through on a bone-headed plan that’s fraught with racial insensitivity. Abrahamian, who is white, and fellow houseguest Dominique Cooper, who is black, have been embroiled in a feud due to both contestants believing that one has double crossed the other. Paul frequently refers to Dominique as a “snake” and the live feed picked up Abrahamian’s strategy to extract revenge.

The Big Brother contestant revealed to his fellow housemates that he plans to use feminine garments in order to dress like a snake, complete with what he described at different points as either a “black mask” or “blackface.”

“Don’t say anything to anyone. I need the pettiness to be fresh.”

The controversy continues to swirl amidst the Big Brother fans who’ve been following along on the live feed. Many contend that Paul’s actions are indeed racist, while others believe he’s simply referring to a snake and used an unfortunate choice of words, while another subsection just believe he’s ignorant.

The contestants, most notably Paul, remain unaware of the controversy. If Paul decides to go through with his ill-advised scheme, it could happen during Thursday’s live eviction vote.
