It’s been 30 years, but Kris Jenner is still bothered by rumors that she had an affair with O.J. Simpson. In the new trailer for Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 17, which premieres this Sunday, September 8, Jenner appears visibly upset by another round of tabloid gossip claiming that she had an affair with Simpson while married to Robert Kardashian Sr. “They printed a story that I was sleeping with O.J.,” an emotional Jenner tells Khloé Kardashian in E!’s new trailer. “After 25 years, you’d think it just wouldn’t be a thing.”
For years, rumors about Khloe’s real father has captivated conspiracy theorists online. These theorists have suggested that Jenner slept with Simpson in the mid-1980s (while she was married to Kardashian Sr., who went on to serve as Simpson’s attorney in his 1995 murder trial), resulting in Khloe’s birth. The Kardashian-Jenner clan and the Simpson family have long denied the rumors, but unfortunately, that hasn’t stopped tabloids and gossip columnists from continuing to spin conspiracies.
In Keeping Up with the Kardashians Season 17, it looks like Jenner’s battle with the tabloids will finally come to a head. “They printed a story that I was sleeping with O.J.,” she tells Khloe, her voice shaking. “After 25 years, you’d think it just wouldn’t be a thing.” The official description under the teaser also suggests that the Simpson rumor will be a focal point of KUWTK Season 17: “Kim Kardashian drops a health bombshell and Kris Jenner can’t shake an old romance rumor.”
But Jenner isn’t the only one battling old demons in the new season of KUWTK. E!’s trailer makes it clear that fans should expect more drama between Khloe and Tristan Thompson, the father of her child, and Kourtney and her sisters. Kim also has a major health scare, saying at one point, “I feel this in my bones. I probably have lupus.”
