Afternoon Delight: Don’t Be Late To ‘WERK’, Your New Favorite Off-The-Wall Web Series

What better way to prepare for the fast-approaching weekend than by indulging in the some of the Internet’s most well-done web content? Take advantage of your lunch break and treat yourself to Afternoon Delight, Decider’s carefully curated picks of the best short-form content available on the world wide web. This week we’re spotlighting WERK, a ridiculously funny new web series created by and starring Liz Jenkins and Molly Fite.

The premise for the series is a pretty simple one that lends itself to endless, hilarious possibilities; Liz and Molly are BFFs in LA who both can’t hold down a job, so they decide to try new ones each episode. The natural chemistry at play between Liz and Molly makes each scene totally entertaining – you’ll probably finish the episodes wanting to be their friend. The pilot episode finds Molly fired from her catering job after drinking and causing a ruckus, and Liz let go from her dog grooming job for bullying a dog (and calling her boss gay). The two resolve to find new jobs, but can’t seem to decide on anything – sign-twirling and babysitting don’t do the trick, and Craigslist is fruitless. These attention-deficit friends are distracted from their job hunting, however, when they realize they’re missing Scandal (“every episode there’s literally a scandal”), but at least ride-sharing seems to be in their future.

Over the course of the series’ five episodes currently available to stream, the duo tries a slew of different jobs, but nothing really seems to stick; Molly can’t drive because of a DUI, so she employs Liz for the task while she chills in the passenger seat with weapons like bear spray and glitter, but it’s soon clear that this one is a bust too after a creep offers to jerk off on their feet. They’re so broke that people start offering them money solely because they appear to be such hot messes, and dog-walking and dressing up for kids’ parties don’t seem to cut it. With every seemingly simple task comes a long list of reasons why these women just aren’t suited for the job. Every episode packs an uproarious punch; whether they’re catching up with a friend at his office and offending his co-workers, or unable to stop drinking even in the most inappropriate situations, Molly and Liz are the ideal duo to lead a web series like WERK to success.

Be sure to subscribe to the series on YouTube for future episodes, follow them on Twitter, and check out their official website for more hysterical content!
