Are you addicted to the HQ mobile trivia game? Does Ricky Gervais’ infamous laugh cause you to giggle? Are you still mad Fred Savage isn’t spending his mornings sitting next to Kelly Ripa? And do you think kids are mostly adorable but can also kind of be sarcastic little shits? Well then wow does ABC have a new game show for you!

Premiering tonight on ABC at 8pm ET, Child Support is a new game show that offers everything you want from the genre. Hosted by Savage, a contestant steps up to answer trivia questions in the hopes of winning up to $200,000. If they get one of 10 questions wrong, the prize money drops. Plus, in order to stay in the game, a room full of children, supervised by Gervais, must get the answer to the question right for the contestant to move on. Essentially, it’s like Who Wants To Be A Millionaire if using your lifeline was the only option, and the person at the other end was a group of elementary school children. The questions are about topics the kids are mostly familiar with, including nursery rhymes, lyrics, and animals — it’s the grown up contestants that are (hilariously) less likely to have the correct answers. Although, in the first episode we learn that surprisingly the adults, and definitely Savage, are more likely to be Beliebers than the children are.

The rules of the game are simple and also clearly explained throughout, which makes it that much more enjoyable. Well, that and the enthusiasm of Savage who was born to host pretty much anything. He gets quizzical, he celebrates, and he’s got more energy than the kids. Not to mention that Gervais, a man who’s not afraid to tell it like it is, has found match (and utter joy) in a room of children who are even less afraid to say what’s on their minds.

The entire set lights up green when the contestant answers correctly, and red when they don’t, just one of the many elements that will have you sucked in, smiling, and screaming animals names at the screen in no time. There are Kids Say The Darndest Things elements of course, and their innocence is matched only by their wit. The show is adorable and light-hearted and endlessly charming, but that’s not to say you won’t be feeling stressed out hoping the kids have the answers to help contestants win. The cute concept plus natural excitement of those on-screen help make Child Support a fun Friday night watch for the family.
