Final Shots: Yikes! Hulu Might Be Tracking Your Internet Browser Activity

After recently updating their privacy policy, Hulu has joined a long list of major internet-based services that now ignore “Do Not Track” requests. That means that the popular streaming platform may be tracking your internet browser’s activity.

According to Marketing Land, other companies who also ignore “Do Not Track” requests include Facebook, AOL, and Google, just to name a few. Although Hulu’s altered privacy policy shields it from any mass tracking blocker that you may have in place, this new update may not necessarily mean that there’s no way around it. More often times than not, a simple visit to settings will give you an opportunity to turn off tracking. As to why a service like Hulu would choose to start ignoring these requests? Firstly, there’s no legal obligation to respond to them, and secondly, there’s no standard internet policy for how a website should approach them.
