After a decade of repairs, TLC’s reality favorite Trading Spaces has finally been refurbished. The neighbor vs. neighbor home repair series will return this April, but what would the show be without former host Paige Davis?

When the news regarding Trading Spaces receiving a fresh coat of paint was made public, Davis contacted TLC to let them know that their search for a host started and stopped with one name. The once and future queen of repair shared her story in the current issue of People Magazine.

“You know I want to host, right?” she told the network. “I didn’t want anyone else to have my part!”

Despite her stint as host of the reality program, Davis surprisingly had no advanced knowledge of the Trading Spaces reboot.

“On the nightstand I could hear my phone vibrating, like a lot,” Davis said. “I thought there was an emergency. Everybody was asking me if I knew. I said, ‘I’m hearing about it now, just like you!’”

Fans hoping to see a few familiar faces when the series returns will be happy to know that eight members of the original squad will be back. Good Housekeeping reports that designers Doug Wilson, Genevieve Gorder, Hildi Santo-Tomas, Vern Yip, Frank Bielec, and Laurie Smith will all appear appearance on the remake, along with carpenters Ty Pennington and Carter Oosterhouse.

Trading Spaces officially returns to TLC on Saturday, April 7th at 9/8c.
