Amazon has scooped up Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes’ popular British period drama, Doctor Thorne, as part of an exclusive U.S. streaming deal with the show’s North American rights holders The Weinstein Company. Starring Tom Hollander (as Dr. Thorne), Ian McShane, and Alison Brie, the show aired earlier this year on ITV in the UK. It will soon be made available to Prime Video subscribers under the title Julian Fellowes Presents Doctor Thorne.

Based on Anthony Trollope’s 1858 novel, the series deals with themes of poverty and wealth, and marriage and infidelity. According to Variety, once the first season of the series hits the platform on May 20th, each episode will be preceded by an exclusive introduction from the Oscar-and-Emmy-winning writer Fellowes himself.
