The 92Y is known as one of New York City’s cultural epicenters. Professors, authors, actors, and politicians are regularly interviewed there, and this past week, The Today Show‘s Willie Geist skipped out on the State of the Union address to lead a conversation with eminent New Yorkers Gil Faizon andGeorge St. Geegland, aka Nick Kroll and John Mulaney‘s “Oh Hello” characters from Kroll Show.

Kroll and Mulaney’s comedic partnership dates back to when they were in the same improv team at Georgetown, and after college, they both tackled the New York alternative comedy scene together. One day, the two comics spied a peculiar middle-aged man at The Strand bookstore and they followed him around all day. Soon, they began mimicking him and they decided to host a comedy show in those characters. Comedy shorts followed and Kroll eventually brought the characters to his Comedy Central sketch show, Kroll Show.

Both characters showed up in this week’s Kroll Show season premiere, but they hyped the show with this absurdly wonderful conversation at the 92Y. Luckily for us, it’s now online. You can now learn about how St. Geegland studied penmanship in college and hear Faizon compare the night to “Jims Brown at the Apollo.”

The entire conversation is an hour long, so you might want to bookmark it to watch over the weekend (or let it roll in a hidden window and suppress your giggles at work). [Watch Kroll Show]
