Megyn Kelly “Ran Her Fingers Through” Donald Trump’s Hair, Says “It’s Real”

FOX News host Megyn Kelly appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live on Monday night to promote her primetime interview special, Megyn Kelly Presents, which airs on FOX (that’s the FOX broadcast network, not FOX news) tonight. She was not at all shy about discussing her situation at Fox News, the levels of support she got (or didn’t get) after running afoul of Donald Trump. And, most harrowing of all, she admitted that she once touched Donald Trump’s hair. Not just touched, either. “I have run my fingers through it,” Kelly said. Yet she lives! And those very fingers appear to still be attached to her body. Perhaps it is Megyn Kelly who is our Unburnt?

Kelly famously clashed with Trump at a FOX News-hosted Republican Debate in August when she called out his history of sexist comments about women, asking whether he had the right temperament to be president. This led to Trump engaging in a war of words with Kelly, much of it on social media, including the infamous “There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” remark. Kelly’s primetime special, Megyn Kelly Presents, will feature a sit-down interview between Kelly and Trump.

The entire Watch What Happens Live interview with Kelly was rather fascinating. Asked whether her FOX News colleagues reached out to her and supported her, Kelly talked about feeling “very supported” by her FOX News family. Though Bill O’Reilly and Greta Van Susteren? Not so much.

Host Andy Cohen got Kelly to take part in “Plead the Fifth,” his game where he asks the guests three tough questions and they can only avoid (i.e. plead the fifth) one of them. Kelly declined to play marry/shag/kill with Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, and Geraldo Rivera; her next challenge was to critique Donald Trump’s appearance (as he’d previously done to other women in the media). “I will say the hair is real,” Kelly said. “I have laid hands on it personally. It’s not a wig. And it’s not a combover either.”

Kelly also addressed her upcoming contract renegotiation and whether she will choose to stay at FOX News. “Well I have to figure that out,” Kelly said. “It’s a very fickle business. I always say one day you’re fine, the next day you say ‘Mike Fuckabee’ on the air and then you’re out!” This was a reference to Kelly’s on-air slip of the tongue when throwing to Mike Huckabee’s show.

Though now that she mentions it, it’s tough not to root for a scenario where Kelly ends her Fox News tenure a la Naomi Watts:

Megyn Kelly Presents, featuring Kelly’s interviews with Donald Trump and Laverne Cox, airs tonight on the FOX network. You can stream it on the Fox Now app.
