Netflix’s Slick New Interface Looks Better, Works Better, And Is Coming In Mid-June!

The Verge is reporting that Netflix is stealthily test-driving a new redesign for web users. While it’s only showing up for a privileged few, all reports suggest that the new interface not only looks a lot better, but it works a lot better, too!

While the new Netflix web design boasts a bold black background that mirrors the service’s Roku 3 and Apple TV app interface, the big news is that this new design is ditching the carousel! Netflix users have noted for years that the slow-moving spinning carousels of titles make it difficult to browse the service’s vast library with any kind of satisfying efficiency.

According to The Verge, web users now need to click on a specific genre to see the site cycle quickly through all the offered options. If you want to select an specific episode from a show, all you have to do is hover over the lead art and episode options populate by themselves. Then, if you click on a title, the show or movie will expand in the space below to detail plot summaries, cast lists, and episode titles.

A contact from Netflix confirms that the new updated UI will go live for everyone in mid-June. Can we hope that it coincides with the premiere of season three of Orange Is The New Black?
